Commercial Fire Alarms & Security Systems for Businesses.
Most businesses we speak to have the same problem — an unreliable provider, commercial fire alarms that may not be fully compliant, and nobody they can actually get hold of. We fix that. BAFE registered. NSI Gold approved. Based in Burnley. Trusted across the North West.
Whatever Brought You Here, We've Solved It Before.
Every business that calls Scope has a specific situation. Our team brings over 50 years of combined experience solving fire and security problems for businesses across the North West. Here's what we hear most — and what we do about it.
Protecting Businesses Across the North West.
Scope Fire & Security installs and maintains commercial fire alarms and security systems for businesses across the North West, backed by a team carrying over 50 years of combined industry experience. The technology in this field changes constantly — our standards don't.
We hold NSI Gold certification (the highest level of National Security Inspectorate approval) and BAFE registration across four specific fire safety schemes. Both require independent annual audits. Neither can be bought or self-declared. They mean the person working on your system has been externally assessed and verified.
We're not a call centre. We're a team of engineers and advisors based in Burnley, covering the North West — and when you call us, you'll speak to someone who knows your account.

It's not enough to say you're good. Accreditations, independent audits and the clients who stay with us say it for us. Here's what actually makes Scope different from every other fire and security company in the North West.
Our NSI Gold and BAFE certifications aren't membership badges — they require annual independent audits of our processes, engineers and workmanship. You can verify both on the NSI and BAFE websites right now.
Our AccreditationsNSI Gold — Not Silver, Not Self-Claimed
Gold is the highest NSI tier. It's UKAS accredited, independently audited and police response eligible. Fewer than 5% of UK fire and security companies hold it.
BAFE Registered — Every Fire Scheme
BAFE registration is scheme-specific and independently assessed. We hold SP203-1, SP205, SP101 and SP203-4 — fire alarms, risk assessments, extinguishers and emergency lighting.
One Number. One Team. One Point of Contact.
Not a call centre. Not a national company that subcontracts locally. You get a dedicated account manager and one number to call — always answered by someone who knows your site.
Full Documentation. Audit-Ready. Always.
Every service visit, every certificate, every defect report — documented and accessible through your customer compliance portal. When your insurer or Fire Authority asks for evidence, you have it instantly.

Real Results, Real Clients.
"At Silentnight we now have greater peace of mind knowing our facility is protected by a reliable and up-to-date fire safety system, thanks to Scope Fire and Security."
Silentnight — one of the UK's most recognised manufacturers — needed a complete fire system takeover at their Barnoldswick HQ. Scope inherited an ageing system, brought it fully up to BS5839-1 standard, maintained specialist VESDA aspirating detection across the site, and now provide ongoing monitoring and maintenance. Zero production disruption throughout.
Real People. Real Feedback.
"The team at Scope ensured we were transferred over effectively with no interruption to our monitoring services. It really is night and day in comparison to our previous supplier. We have total confidence and trust in their knowledge and ability."
"We had so many problems with our previous supplier. Since switching to Scope it has really been like a breath of fresh air. I can now relax knowing that our security and fire safety systems are being maintained effectively and competently."

Your previous provider is legally required to hand over all system documentation. Scope carries out a full takeover visit — servicing, testing and asset-capturing everything before we assume responsibility. Your systems stay live throughout. Most clients find it far simpler than they expected.
BS5839-1 recommends a minimum of two service visits per year for most commercial systems, with weekly/monthly testing by the responsible person in between. Our maintenance contracts cover this — with a compliance certificate issued after each visit and accessible via your customer portal.
