Scope Fire & Security was approached by a local nursery that was experiencing issues admitting children as a result of Covid safety protocols.

Unable to allow parents access through the main entrance, the nursery had advised all visitors to use the rear entrance. Unfortunately, this had led to disruptions as many parents found it difficult to signal their arrival to the nursery staff.

Scope installed an intercom and entry functionality which has been fully integrated into the nursery’s existing phone system. The system lets parents ring the correct area of the nursery directly from the gate intercom, allowing staff to check the camera and verify the parent’s identity much more efficiently.

Staff can now also open the gate via the phone system which allows much quicker access to the grounds. Once the parent has been admitted, the gate automatically closes.

Working closely with the nursery’s existing telecoms provider, Scope was able to connect the new equipment with minimal disruption, whilst remaining on the same phone system.

Having been advised by several other companies that the integration would not be possible with their existing phone system, the customer was very happy with the result.

Scope has since been invited back to review some long-standing faults with the nursery’s CCTV system; these have now been successfully repaired.
