Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 you are obliged to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment in any premises where persons are employed to work. If you employ 5 or more members of staff there is a legal requirement to document it. Scope Fire & Security can conduct and produce a Fire Risk Assessment for your premises, providing you with knowledge and awareness of the fire risks which are present along with the necessary or recommended fire safety measures to be taken. All our Fire Risk Assessors are ex Fire Service and are professionally qualified and affiliated to a professional body.

Various changes to the Fire Safety Order are being introduced as a result of the introduction of the Fire Safety Bill and that may mean that your current Fire Risk Assessment is not covering these new changes.

The main changes are:

Identifying the Responsible Person (Accountable Person for that Building)
Creating a legal requirement on residential building owners to inspect external cladding and fire doors. This closes the loophole which previously left it unclear as to whether fire safety legislation applied to the structure and external walls of multi-occupied residential buildings. (Common areas)
